98 year old Thelma Durham died Sunday morning at NHC of Smithville. She was born to her parents, the late John and Carrie Waddington in Farwell, Michigan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer to whom she was married for 42 years and a son, Keith of Inglis, Florida. Also three brothers, Louis, Gilbert, and Tim Waddington and a sister, Fern Richards. She is survived by a sister, Helen Kube and her husband Bob of Farwell, Michigan and a son, Gary Durham and his wife Nancy of Smithville. She had six grandchildren, Todd Durham and his wife Dana of Lawrenceville, Georgia; Tami Strong and her husband Frankie of Plant City, Florida, Kari Booth and her husband John of Merritt Island, Florida; Penny Stough of Rosebush, Michigan; Ginger Gulick and her husband Kevin of Marian, Michigan; and Pepper Nichols and her husband David of Lake City, Florida. She also had ten great grandchildren. She was always surrounded by a large, loving family. At her request, there will be no service in Smithville. She will be buried in the Gilmore Township Cemetery in Farwell, Michigan. Along with her parents, her husband and her son, Keith. The cemetery is located across the road from the house in which she was born. Along with all the friends she made in Smithville, the family would like to thank each and every employee of NHC.
