87 year old Thurman Hooper of Smithville died Sunday at NHC Health Care Center of Smithville. He was retired from the Carrier Corporation. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bill Robertson will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Hooper was preceded in death by his parents, Abb and Eliza Ashburn Hooper; his wife, Janie Hooper; a brother, Herman Hooper and a nephew, Jerry Lynn Sanders. Survivors include a sister, Violet and her husband Benton Sanders of Smithville. A brother, Lonnie and his wife Wilma Hooper of Kansas. Two nieces, Emogene and her husband Boyd Atnip of Smithville and Sandra and her husband Paul Turner of McMinnville. Two great nephews and two great great nephews also survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
