86 year old William Herman Roller of Rock Island died Friday at River Park Hospital in McMinnville. He was a member of the New Union The Baptist Church and a nurseryman. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and he was a 32nd degree Mason. The funeral will be Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bransford England, Darrell Cantrell, and Junior Hibdon will officiate and burial will be in the Keltonburg Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the service 4:00 p.m. Roller was preceded in death by his parents, Julius M. and Nora Ella Cantrell Roller; children, William Earl and Eddie Herman Roller; brothers, Jim and Obbie Roller; and sisters, Emily Caten and Nellie Roller. Survivors include his wife of 68 1/2 years, Helen Roller of Rock Island. Sons, Larry and wife Rhonda Roller of Michigan, Stevie Ray and wife Jeanne Roller of Smithville, and Danny B. and wife Paula Roller of Rock Island. Special daughter, Jane and husband Buddy Patterson of McMinnville. Grandchildren, Tracy and husband Jeff Miller, Tammy Roller, Stephanie and husband Chance Morrow, Gunter Roller, Sarah Roller, Mary Roller, and Luke Patterson. Great grandchildren, Kurtlin and Haley Miller and a sister, Bobbie Ford of Smithville. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
