81 year old Winfred T. Turner of Smithville died Friday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a retired maintenance worker from Vanderbilt Hospital and a member of the Mount Hope The Baptist Church. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Dwight Knowles will officiate and burial will be in the Indian Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Naomi West Turner; three brothers, Orville Lee, Gent, and Rob Turner; a son. Winfred Dwayne Turner; and a grandchild, Angela O’Neal. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Waldron Turner of Smithville. A daughter, Shirley Norris and husband David Eldridge of Cookeville. Two step-daughters, Diane and husband Rayford Seales of Kentucky and Debbie Smith Embree of Nashville. One step-son, Mark and his wife Connie Smith of Murfreesboro. One grandchild, Diana O’Neal of Florida. Seven step grandchildren and four step- great grandchildren. A brother, Hubert and his wife Carolyn Turner of Smithville. A sister, Sue Roberts of McMinnville. And a sister-in-law, Audean and her husband Ernest Pack of Smithville. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
